CNTC resolves to uphold  rights of indigenous Nagas

Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): The newly elected team of the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), headed by President Hukiye Yepthomi, held its first executive council meeting at Hotel Cedar on May 29.The meeting was attended by CNTC executives and office bearers, along with representatives from Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho and Sümi Hoho, Central Nagaland Women Association, and Central Nagaland Students’ Association.During the meeting, the CNTC resolved that the three tribes would work together for the unity of the people of Nagaland, stand firmly for the rights of the indigenous Nagas, and “work towards the protection of Naga rights, development, fraternity, growth and unity among all communities.”The CNTC also congratulated the tribal hohos of Nagaland on the formation of the Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC), comprising the 15 recognised tribes of the State, and expressed hope that “the committee would further strengthen unity, cooperation and the welfare of the indigenous Naga people.”Among others, the CNTC team includes vice presidents Longshi Kikon and Temjennungsang Kichu, general secretary Imliakum, and Information & Publicity Secretary Vikato I Chishi.
