Tehran, May 30 - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that no agreement has been finalised with the United States yet, with ongoing exchange of messages between the two sides. This was revealed in a telephone interview with state-run IRIB TV, following US President Donald Trump outlining conditions for a deal with Iran and his intention to make a decision soon, as reported by Xinhua news agency. Baghaei reiterated that Iran's current focus in the negotiations is on ending the war. He clarified that discussions regarding Iran's uranium enrichment or enriched uranium are not currently taking place. Speaking about the management of the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei stated that future management of the strait concerns only Iran and Oman. US President Donald Trump earlier outlined his demands on social media, including Iran agreeing to never possess a nuclear weapon, immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz for unrestricted shipping, and removal of water mines. He also mentioned that Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles would be unearthed and destroyed in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Trump stated that financial compensation for the war would not be exchanged until further notice. Iran, the United States, and Israel had reached a ceasefire on April 8 after 40 days of fighting, following mediation by Pakistan. The two sides have reportedly exchanged several proposed plans outlining conditions for ending the conflict, with efforts to finalise a memorandum of understanding underway.
